JSAP REVIEW PROCESS

  • JSAP accepts submissions of manuscripts online or in print via post/ standard courier. Soft copies may be submitted to the editorial mail id ([email protected]) in PDF format (version 4 and above) or Microsoft Word Document (97 – 2003, 2007 versions). Figures to be attached in a separate file with photographic quality digital prints to produce appropriate high quality images in the web version of the journal. (Preferably JPEG image?).
  • Copies in print should be in triplicate (One original and two duplicates) printed on A4 size bond paper, font – Times New Roman, size 12. Figures or illustrations should be professionally drawn or photographed and attached on separate pages at the end of the manuscript.
  • Manuscripts submitted to the journal are first accessed by the editorial staff (read associate editor). These are accessed for content originality, compliance with ‘shuddha ayurveda’ research parameters and terminology and for technical aspects like writing style, language, grammar etc.
  • Articles may be sent for technical modifications after assessment by editorial staff to maintain journal language, style and aesthetics. Authors are expected to resend their articles after modification within a period of 7 – 10 days.
  • Manuscripts beyond the scope of the journal, those with serious flaws as regards scientific content or technical requirements of the journal shall be rejected before proceeding for peer review. Manuscripts lacking in originality, significant subject matter or those which are unlikely to be of interest to readers are likely to be rejected before peer review.
  • Forwarding of the article for peer-review and the acceptance or rejection of any article is a decision based on editorial discretion and decision of the Editor in Chief shall be final and binding.
  • Articles which stand up to journal expectations and principles shall be forwarded to two experts (reviewers) from the respective fields for blind peer review. One of the experts shall be from the Editorial Review Board and the other shall be a referee, not a part of the journal staff.
  • The peer review is a double blind process and the article shall be forwarded anonymously to expert reviewers from the field for a dispassionate review.
  • On receiving reviews from both the reviewers, the editorial staff shall assess the reviews and send the article for revision/ acceptance/ rejection, complying with suggestions from reviewers.
  • Revised manuscripts shall be forwarded to the reviewers along with the ‘comment files’ from the authors for a recheck. The authors are requested to mark the changes in the article in red ink so as to facilitate evaluation by reviewers. Articles revised as per suggestions and recommended by the reviewers for acceptance shall then be accepted and checked for language and grammar.
  • Authors are requested to incorporate the suggestions of the reviewers and resend the revised article within a period of 10 days. Provisional acceptance of the article shall be given only after editorial re-assessment of revised article.
  • Authors are permitted to submit their articles either in English, Marathi or Hindi. Reviewers are requested to evaluate the article in the language used by the author and give their opinions likewise. The articles shall be duly translated in the remaining two languages only after the acceptance for publication and final versions of all three languages shall be presented to the authors for proofs.
  • The authors shall be sent the final proofs of the article before publication. Articles shall be published only after receiving due approval from the author (s) within 5 days.
  • Publication of an accepted article may also be withheld if the author(s) fail to submit the copyright form.
  • The reviewers are requested to communicate with the editorial staff at the mail address – [email protected] and [email protected] .
